The Scenic Highway
You’ll enjoy riding your motorcycle on the Central Florida Highlands, along route 17. It’s a little distance from Port Charlotte, however, the scenery is worth the trip. Take in the bucolic rural sights for a peaceful drive and enjoy the quaint small towns along the way. You’ll find plenty of places to stop for a bite to eat or even stay overnight if you’re on a leisurely outing. Enjoy a picnic at the state park in Sebring, or take a tour of Kissimmee. History buffs can stop in the Museum of Military History, or perhaps you’d rather photograph the waterfowl and gators at Lake ToHo.
Casey Key
Do you enjoy beaches? If so, you’ll enjoy a little jaunt along the west coast. While this route does not have a lot to offer in the way of amenities – you won’t find lots of restaurants or attractions here – it does have public beaches on either end of the route, so be sure to bring your swim gear.
Florida East-Coast Manasota Key Road
If you are looking for a relaxing motorcycle ride, this is the one for you. You’ll drive a slower-paced ten miles with beach scenery from time to time and lots of picturesque residential areas with ancient trees shading the road. The speed limits here are 45 mph tops, but for a very relaxing ride, this is choice. You may want to take a rest at the beach before moving on.
